I use Tamiya lacquers and have started using Alcad lacquers which seem to go on super, super smooth.
I airbrush those and I use enamels for brushed areas.

Alcad from the GearHead universe- a soldier turned pop singer turned cavalier. Born in Nara, she was nine years old when BioCorp's military synth experiments escaped containment and destroyed the town. After many years in Norstead and a failed pop career, she has returned to the Joseon Green Zone.
