The Chilcot report is a revelation of injustice under the cloak of Aid. The Chilcot report is a sorry report on the current state of humanity. So the ultimate question here is – what are we going to achieve out of the sorry reports when “sorry” has no meaning in action?

When there's very powerful & wealthy people tried & convicted sat in jail with lengthy sentences then I'll have faith in the investigation. Currently thinking of the Chilcot Inquiry with Blair bricking himself right up until the end. Suppose it helps if you're godfather to one of Murdoch's kids.

Public enquiries are a waste of time- no action ever comes out of them and often take years, cost £m's and they have little or no clout to change things. Chilcot, Leversen, PO, HIV, et al all for nothing. Lawyers only winners £200m so far on Covid to learn lessons yet no prosecutions at the end.

The opinion of many. Look up the Chilcot Inquiry, he overstated the case for the existence of weapons of mass destruction, ignored viable peaceful options, sidelined proper legal process, misled Parliament by presenting uncertain intelligence as fact, and failed to plan for the aftermath of the war.

Incorrect o patronising one who thinks his opinion shines out of his arse. The UK’s Iraq Inquiry (the Chilcot Inquiry) found that the threat from supposed WMD was overstated, intelligence was presented with more certainty than was justified, and there was no credible evidence👇🏻

There is a vignette recorded in the Chilcot report where Admiral Boyce (Chief of the Defence staff) and Juliet Wheldon (Treasury Solicitor) ask AG Goldsmith for an unequal view as to whether the use of force in Iraq was lawful (to which he eventually gave the answer that it was)

What's the purpose of these inquiries when no one is ever held responsible? The Chilcot Inquiry actually turned out to be a letter of recommendation for #TonyBlair. #BorisJohnson

In unrelated news, Covid inquiry reports findings on Johnson government actions at time today. It’ll probably end up being the most pointless investigation since the Chilcot Report but you live in hope…

You say they "exposed the sexing up of the dossier", but importantly, their resignations came after the inquiry found that the dossier had not been "sexed up". news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_poli... I think Chilcot also found it had not been: www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Don’t disagree: truth is the duty, including on the details

But it was, genuinely, a struggle to recall the particularities of the mistruth that headlined Hutton in the post-Chilcot landscape
