Check their stock portfolios. Geo and Core Civic, private prisons and detention centers, have seen huge profits. Schumer and Jeffries major parts of the problem as they defend the status quo and have no tools beyond sharply worded letters.

Boycott Citizen's Bank. They fund ICE detention Centers, surveillance of immigrant neighborhoods, and deportations. We need to cut ties with Core Civic and The Geo Group.
Democrats need to realize ICE isn’t just—or even primarily—a mass deportation force.

ICE is also Trump’s most loyal internal security force which will be used to attack regime opponents and try to steal the election. They should defund his authoritarian capabilities.

This is good advice. A local target: Citizen's Bank which finances Core Civic and GeoGroup, who build and run the private prisons and detention centers

Gemini commentary on Larry Ellison in the context of Paramount/Skydance’s attempted hostile takeover of $WBD. Rare to see such overt criticism from an LLM, get wrecked Larry sucks to suck

"Fourth, we need more civic infrastructure that break down silos. Community centers, parks, libraries, and cheaper places to eat on public lands can bring people together across socioeconomic groups."

Yes, please. @thewaroncars.bsky.social

Important thread on the energy demand of AI data centers. If your local politician tells you, as a private citizen, to ration your power, while simultaneously making allowances for AI data centers, they are massively full of shit, and your civic duty is to get them out of office as soon as possible.
Funny enough, I'm actually in a position to answer this question. I work in the energy industry and am a subject matter expert in the electrical side of energy generation on power plants

Prior to my current corporate position, I was a field engineer that specialized in emergency troubleshooting

This is valid. I'm not sure how the energy usage of the really low quality generators compares to running MS Paint, but I figure that anything "quality" is best sketched by hand.

Venezuela needs investment in civic infrastructure: education, media, community centers, job training—everything that ensures broad-based well-being. Instead, the administration is focused on rebuilding extractive oil infrastructure, ignoring the everyday needs of Venezuelans.

When "civic leaders" welcome data centers we ought to suspect that bribery was involved.
why would communities welcome projects that add pollution (air, noise, light, water, ground), thet drive up water & electricity costs & where the jobs created are few after initial, disruptive construction & don’t create opportunity for all? tech companies can make legally binding commitments here.
Tech companies and developers looking to plunge billions of dollars into ever-bigger data centers to power AI and cloud computing are increasingly losing fights in communities where people don’t want to live next to them, or even near them.

Hey billionaires- Where are all of the hospitals, schools, museums, opera houses, civic centers, research institutes, community centers and parks with your name on them? Maybe you wouldn’t be hated so much if you gave back just a little. #taxtherich

They're coming for trans people. They're coming for anyone not yt. They're destroying education and libraries. They're raping children and women in detention centers. There's one right here in San Diego at Otay, Core Civic. I saw Kamala Harris speak outside. Back when she was SENATOR. End this.

Rodeos don't forget the Rodeos and Gun and Knife Shows at Civic Centers. Roanoke and Salem Virginia, we see you.

From what I understand there is not actually a contradiction there. It was just very common for temples to also be used as centers of civic planning. Obviously a good place to record the grain harvest. It's where all the scribes are.

There’s a lot going on in those detention centers. One thing is certain, Core Civic and Geo are making a killing. It is disgusting.
December 29, 2025 at 5:41 AM
It’s important that people know that while many detainees have asked to be sent back to their countries, ICE is still holding them, sometimes for months, or more. This needs to be called out as well. They don’t really want to deport people; they need to fill the centers to appease Core Civic & Geo.

I know that nobody likes to be sick. That's a given. Health is now a civic duty, though. Once illnesses start creeping into the detention centers and prisons, all hell will break loose. It is part of the culling. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. Take precautions to maintain your good health. It matters.

hypocrite Lawrence O'donnell is covering the Catholic church condemning the treatment of immigrants in the United States.

Why doesn't he spend 5 minutes of his program reporting on GEO Group, Core Civic and the mass detention centers operated all over the country being paid for by US tax dollars?

I'm surprised there are not more #Bethlehem and #Nazareth neighborhoods across the #Christian world telling the story of #Christ through parks, church memorials and community centers. Civic business would be more in #NewJerusalem... #MerryChristmas #Housing #FamilyLife

⚖️ The Free Imperial Cities ⚖️
In the Middle Ages, some cities answered to no one but the Emperor. Nuremberg and Frankfurt grew wealthy and independent, building massive city walls and civic centers that reflected their unique political freedom.
