I don't have a good overall answer but tax breaks for advertising, cobrand funds from card companies like visa and just being generally underutilized by those eligible. I bet them and USAA get some kind of additional breaks over other banking institutions as well

Age, sex, gender, and looks don’t matter. We can work out the poses and the scene together, and then we both will take pictures, and I will edit them so we are in the same scene, and then we can #crosspromote and #cobrand each other! All the fun of collabing and none of the actual meeting people!

Last day for use was like Aug 27.
Issuer was bought and the new company doesn’t do cobrand lol.

Yeah even within the banks we mentioned, there are vast ecosystems of cobrand premium cards that could be a story all their own. And it’s funny how little BoA says or does with its prem card—no one I spoke to thought of it as a serious player in the space!

Redemption Thongs- thongs of freedom.
Boom, if any of the Marley kids ever goes broke, there's a licensing opportunity. Cobrand it with Sisqo and move back to like 2000 and we'll make millions

A spike in a particular cancelation reason will absolutely be noticed and set off alarm bells at corporate.

Yeah, Visa and MC can put pressure on the payment processors. But so, too, can businesses with cobrand cards put pressure on them.

I'm not saying you should do that. But you *could.*

Hey, you know who has a cobrand credit card with mastercard and who would have to take action if people threatened to cancel their memberships over this?

Sam's Club. Threaten to cancel your membership because of what mastercard is doing. Hell, actually cancel it and demand a refund with that reason

Yknow, I work for a company with a cobrand visa credit card.

I think it's time I gave our customer support a call and tell them that visa needs to cut shit out or I'll have no choice but to cancel said card (card sign-ups are a KPI for the company, so canceling those en masse would hit hard).

Details on cobrand: $2bn remuneration from AmEx in the quarter, up 10%. Maintained "momentum" in new card acquisitions.

Also on the loyalty front, FlightFund had lots of partners, including Cunard. You could redeem flight points for a transatlantic cruise on the QE2.

And, of course, a cobrand credit card tie-in. In 1991 the signup bonus was 2,500 points; 5,000 if you weren't already a member.

And out of those $5M, how much for the fascist Trump himself? I hope and bet that the payment company that will cobrand this card will loose a lot of customers.

That's not really how those deals work.

A "partnership" doesn't change the underlying loyalty program nor its cobrand partner bank. A merger means the smaller airline disappears, and also doesn't issue a new card.
March 12, 2025 at 2:03 PM
So this is kinda tough because Delta's loyalty program sucks (I love their in-flight service but their points are next to worthless so hard to recommend one of their cobrand cards or getting AmEx MR to transfer to Delta) and AA is not transfer partners with anyone.

So there's a whole concept I might call an "anti-brand", or maybe a 'cobrand" (mathematical lingo). Rather than iron conformity, it's more the theme, but infinitely remixed.

Analogue: take something from OSS like, say, FreeBSD, or KDE, or whatever. OSS projects have evolved over time to […]

Cobrand future w 2 banks?
"Perhaps it's a different offering in Hawaii than it is in the Continental US. But ultimately, we want what's going to get people into our credit card program, into our membership program, and ultimately spending on the products that we have in offer?"

Their brand managers told them to cobrand with the apartheid guy. “His numbers are off the charts with the 18-50 incel bracket.”
