Yeah, for those for whom that's ancient history (semi-sarcastic) the XBox was the first console they were promoting as "a PC in a box, you can develop for both at the same time" and DXIW was one of the first games to try and promote that. It was a mess.

i swear that dxiw set back console-pc gamer relations a decade. so much talk about the tiny levels being because of "console memory" and not that the game was coded with an engine held together with twine and scotch tape

They should have done Invisible War instead.
DXIW without the OG Xbox console limitations holding the game back would vastly improve it.
No more absurdly tiny levels. Merge the levels together with no load zones in-between, like the Thief 3 Gold mod. Etc.

These do ALL have issues, but I liked em anyway. And for some, like DXIW, they actually got decent reviews, but on the forums I frequented they were just met with heaps of scorn.

That great Nina!! 👍 almost forgotten this game DXIW remember playing it on Xbox version wasn't on backward compatible on Xbox 360 Series X S disc based.

Finished DXIW today for my first time (I know, I know, I just heard bad things about it so...)
It's not *that* bad. It's very obviously made for consoles with the small maps which is annoying.
Story was...interesting, to say the least, but there is a single brain cell between all three Dentons
