It’s still mild in our Surrey village and snow is rare these days but when it comes the fields near our house are wondrous with the old Oaks casting black shadows on the whiteness.

Not sure how wild any of these are as I suspect somebody scattered the seed in a field near a local gate by a path. Anyway, it’s the thought that counts. I think we have a Poppy, Plains Coreopsis, Scorpionweed Borage, Hogweed and possibly Toadflax.

We don’t get out much but visiting a nearby village for a monthly Parkinson’s group coffee morning we passed the parish church and had to stop to photograph the amazing plum blossom outside. What an uplifting sight on a Monday morning.

A few days of sun and warmth has brought out the Snake’s Head Fritillaries outside the local church among the daffodils - like most other blooms, much later than usual and still quite sparse. Rain is forecast.

Altocumulus cloud formation above our Surrey village at the end of beautiful September day. Sometimes you don’t need to travel further than your back door to capture beauty.
These broken small white patchy altocumulus clouds seem to have been thrown from a container behind trees to the right of this picture, spreading across an evening dark blue sky just after sunset. Another tree is seen centre bottom in silhouette.
