#fediverse-account
@ricmac I find my circles on the fediverse do it all for me! I also seemingly organically find out about other conferences via the ones I attend. Also people on my LinkedIn share more local confs and meetups.

Favourites are @btconf, CSS Day (@ppk is there a Masto account for it?), @webdevconf […]

The UK shot itself in the foot on that account because the OSA basically makes it impossible for small social media sites to get off the ground.

Getting away from US infrastructure is however why I'm on the Fediverse and one of the reasons I'm such a FOSS evangelist.

The propaganda machine of I.R.Iran have reached Fediverse. I don't know if this should be celebrated as it shows the wide reach of Fediverse, or not, but it should definitely be condemned.

Take this account for example:
Fake name, 0 followers, 0 following, bogus profile description, no photo […]

For gamedevs on bsky, I noticed there are users interacting with me and I cant see their replies.

If you can, please bridge your account over to mastodon/fediverse by following:

@ap.brid.gy

Then follow me and we can interact with each other!

@dash0.com Could you please follow @ap.brid.gy?

This will bridge the Dash0 account into the fediverse/Mastodon so that content can also be boosted there.

Welcome to Bluesky!

I am also locking my personal account and using my research accounts on X for research purposes. And I'm using Bluesky frequently until now. I'm also on fediverse and literally I'm everywhere on the Internet.

Please note that on the topic of #ukraine I’ve mostly switched to posting on PeerTube but I’m not sure if PeerTube tags appear in Fediverse searches here, which is the main reason I’m boosting the most important videos from my personal account here. In any case […]

Mayor Mamdani - make a Fediverse account and then suggest a mayor for Portland OR too. We're wanting a mayor as outspoken as the citizens for once. Not someone who hides until called upon.
January 8, 2026 at 11:35 PM
Not sure that corporate security would let us do that with this account. Perhaps we should just look into getting an account in the Fediverse too.

Btw - you can bridge this account to the Fediverse using Bridgy Fed. It'll help you reach the large open source community on that side of the open social web as well 🙂

You can set yourself up to bridge here, and let us know if you need any help with the setup! fed.brid.gy/login

I know we can't convince many of you to be a part of Mastodon/the greater fediverse... So just follow @ap.brid.gy instead, that service will bridge your account over so those of us on there can follow you where we're comfortable!
January 8, 2026 at 9:43 AM
I had a Mastodon account, I signed up for one of the biggest at the time. Later, my host server didn't block another server that was disliked by the server many twitter friends are on so I got cut off. I resolved not to switch again till the Fediverse stabilises into two right vs left camps.
