The trails at Maine Audubon's Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth are open from sunrise to sunset, but the conditions are wet and slippery on both the access road & the trails. If you are planning a walk, be sure to dress for the elements. The Nature Store is open from 10 am to 4 pm today.

Another shot from long ago in Maine, a groundhog rather enjoying an apple. It was soaked through with rain, its fur clumped around the guard hairs.

Years ago when we took a family trip to the other Portland and I saw familiar faces in the ponds, I wondered if I was the only visitor here. I didn't have a magic computer in my pocket back then but after 15 years I finally looked it up and they are indeed native to Maine.

I'm currently struggling and hobbling along Hadrian's Wall. Just arrived at the next place I'm staying and I couldn't be more impressed. The owner has bent over backwards to get me sorted for the next few days, and the rooms are lovely. You should all go! It's in Gilsland.
