Cooler today - so up into the hills for a taxing 14km. Up #RoseberryTopping, across to the Cook Monument and back down & around to #GreatAyton. My periodic reminder that road fitness is not the same as hill fitness 😓. The North York Moors has some magnificent scenery.

Definitely peak now for the Comma. We saw at least a dozen whilst walking past 200 metres of thistles and brambles. #GreatAyton @dioceseofyork.bsky.social

@savebutterflies.bsky.social this is the year of the Comma. We've seen more this last month than in all previous years together. In 200 metres of thistle dominated edging we saw at least a dozen this afternoon. #GoodNews #GreatAyton @yorkshirewild.bsky.social

#GreatAyton #Allotments won their funding bid to save their site! 🥳 But disappointing this vital fund is closing early. Fingers crossed a bigger and better fund will replace, but precarious for #communities needing #funding right now. #localgov #gardening www.theguardian.com/society/2024...
