The WSJ suggested Harborne had misrepresented his ownership when opening the bank account.

In 2024, Harborne filed a defamation suit against Dow Jones & Co, the WSJ publisher.

In 2023, Wall Street Journal linked Harborne and his aviation fuel company AML Global Ltd to banking arrangements for crypto companies Tether & Bitfinex which helped the companies access the US banking system by concealing their identities.

Harborne donated more than £6m to Farage’s Brexit Party in 2019, the largest donor that year. (He donated smaller sums since 2001 to the Tories). In 2022, Harborne donated £1m to Boris Johnson Ltd, whose govt awarded his company Qinetiq an £80m Ministry of Defence contract in 2023.

Harborne was educated privately & got a masters in engineering & an MBA at Cambridge & Paris. He was a McKinsey management consultant before running a research company in Asia investing in new tech & open software blockchain platforms. He set up Singular AI Consulting with a cryptocurrency miner.

In the third quarter of 2025 Reform got a windfall – £9 million - the biggest sum of any UK party. It was from Christopher Harborne, 63-year-old British-Thai businessman and blockchain technology investor based in Thailand. He has donated to the Tories & holds Thai citizenship as Chakrit Sakunkrit.

Christopher Harborne, the largest shareholder in QinetiQ, has donated c.£22,700,000 to Reform UK. 92% of QinetiQ's income is from the MoD.
The UK government, in this way, subsidises Reform UK. I think I'm the only one who's reported this @bylinetimes.bsky.social

Are there any links between this Iranian family & Christopher Harborne who gave Farage £9m. He has a large share in Tether. Iranian Central Bank has been using vast quantities of cryptocurrency issued by Tether.

On January 20th, students attended a World Religion Day workshop. Rev Jo Jennings from St John’s church in Harborne discussed various beliefs and why people follow different religions, focusing on Christianity and its core beliefs.
