I have been trying my best to not completely lose it with all that’s going on in this country. The country we knew and loved is gone. I don’t see a way back. I am knitting to keep it together. 5 months later, I’m seeing the ribbing together. #knitsky #knitters #knittting

Knittting, crocheting and spinning ineptly are keeping me sane.

Name recognition is huge in most people’s buying decisions. Yes, you don’t take well to absurdist humor, but thats a risk any ad takes. No one thinks you grow wings from red bull

This is distinct from the AI image ‘celebrating‘ knittting, which serves completely different purposes.

Haha! I won! Tied two scraps together, it's one row short, but you can't say I didn't use every single inch of that skein of yarn. (It is yak yarn and it was very $$) These are for me, just a scrapbuster project, so I am very happy. Now for the thumbs. #yarnchicken #knittting

I can say this (as a dude who "fibers")

Spinning is soothing, and it's easy to carry about (same of for knittting/crochet).

There are portable means of weaving.

And you will get people coming up to talk to you, in a wholesome way. So many upsides.
This and nested, and seriously try to drop any gendered expectations. Men darned & knitted their own stockings and socks in war zones and on ships, there’s a very long history of most textile work being much less gendered than the late Victorians left us with, and same for metal, stone & wood.
This is just solid gender-agnostic advice, by the way

If you're feeling isolated or alienated, get into an Art or Craft as best you are able and join a community dedicated to it

Look to your local library for resources! You will be surprised by what's available

Finished a sweater for the doggo! It’s gonna come in handy after her haircut this weekend! For now, she’s fluffy and cozy.

Working on something simple as I wait to start PT to resolve my tendon issues. This cloud-like confection is the Louvre Sweater by Petite Knits, featuring Marianthi Sock yarn in Flicker with two strands of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair in Rainy Day. It is slow going, but progress is progress.🧶

Cybergoth 💀 where rave meets rebellion…?? Electric splashes of neon green, orange, and red pulse against moody purple and stark white. It’s bold, chaotic, and unapologetically extra. Lilith sock weight yarn base. 🔮

It’s wild because like… knittting is full on algorithmic… like… sweetie just admit you’re bad at math and let the fiber artists do what they do

I just ordered a new skein of Vermont Vice to finish the sleeve -- and the collar? What do you think about the collar? Yes or no?

The new skein is overk*ll; I'm being super picky about matching colors, which is what makes this work. 🧶

Last-minute Minna No Sweater for my oldest before she heads off to University. I had the idea to use up yarn that (shockingly) didn't have enough contrast for another project in this way, and my daughter claimed ownership before I cast on the first stitch. 🧶 #knitsky

Day 3: #rhinebeckflorencekal with Junction Fiber Mill yarn, Making Tracks LITE - Carnival & Roots LITE - Blueberry. I'll divide the sleeves today. This is turning into quite the beauty thanks to both the yarn & #elenormortensen #florencesweater pattern. 🧶

🧶 and Knitsky friends: I'm knitting a sweater that will be used as a fundraiser for Ukraine. What do you think will work better for raising money: a silent auction or a raffle? There will be up to 1,000 people in attendance at an all-day outdoor festival where this will be available.

I have decided to finish the top with my twisted stitches, because

A.) it’s almost finished
B.) honestly it looks fine to anyone that does not know about knittting
C.) I had an epiphany that I can name it “The twisted tea” (it is cotton and will have short sleeves like a tshirt)
