Lightwater reactors (most old designs) suck. That's the design that has issues with meltdowns and waste. Molten salt and other modern designs do not have those flaws.

Molten salt reactors for example literally cannot meltdown due to the high melting point of the liquid salt and can use the waste from old lightwater designs as fuel.

Nuclear is one of the safest energy sources on the planet, especially newer designs. Like new generation liquid salt reactors are basically impossible to meltdown and can use the waste from the shitty lightwater reactors as more fuel.

Seemed like every single time I visited Lightwater Valley as a kid I saw an ambulance taking someone away.
I remember the BMX course having a particularly slippery wooden bridge section that was a real test of nerve/luck too.
