Looking at how 2026 is shaping for my interests, I can safely say I will be spending majority of my money on OCs this year.
Magic's release schedule is choke-full of things I have little to no interest on. I've enjoyed my FF set and will happily skip Marvel, Star Trek, and TMNT.

I keep a standard battlebox of 32 of my favorite standard decks across Magic's history (really from 2006 - present) exactly for this outcome. Either jam games of [insert format for upcoming important tournament here] or I break out the Bangersbox.

And it’s strange because it has all the hallmarks for it! Beyond even just the limitless power, there’s the clothing, the symbolism, the ritual of it all, Magic’s history of being intertwined with nudity, even the existence & practice of sex magic and all those things… there’s so much there!

A solid answer! The beginning stages really are fascinating. It's so fun seeing how magic's art has changed, and there's a bit of me that would love to see a modern set done in the older styles from that time.

Honestly, I find a lot of the ABU art to be really fascinating. Some of the stories behind the art of Magic's first run are out there, but I wonder sometimes about what led to what art being chosen and used where
