What's up? The amount that the single year age death rates in Republican voting states are higher than the same measures of death rates in Democrat voting states. This graph simplifies complex data. 🧪💡☠️ #Sociology #Population #Politics
I will start explaining what the position of the two far to your left dots show to teach you how to interpret this graph. The bottom age 0 dot is a blue diamond shaped dot that shows that the age 0 deaths in Rep voting states in 1999-2003 was 127% of the age 0 deaths in Dem voting states at the same time. The red square is at 145 and that tells you that in 2018-2021 the under age 1 deaths in Rep voting states was 145.1% of the same in Dem voting states. In general there are three groups that show similar patterns. While the under age 20 dots bounce around a lot all but one of the pairs, age 9, show increases in the percent the Republican states are of the Democrat voting states. From age 20 to age 35 the pattern is unique. The early data starts going up at age 20 to be joined at age 25 then at age 30 the early data starts heading down while the 2018-2021 data does that at age 35. The cause of these unusual patterns is this is the age group that starts having health care payments monopolized by capitalist health insurance. Over these ages, both times show similar increases in death rates but the later one has it happen a few years later. The lines of dots for ages 35 and up show a larger increase in death rates in Rep voting states over the same in Dem voting states. The major difference is in the earlier data the line of early dots from about age 47 to age 57 is level. In general the death rates in Rep voting states have increased more than in the Dem voting states. LP Valuation risk The Fund will be relying upon the Manager for valuation of its investments. The Fund's investments in many cases will be difficult to value due to various factors, including the nature of private equity assets, the absence of readily ascertainable market values and comparables. and limited sources of useful valuation information. In addition, the valuation of an investment may not always be consistent with, and therefore may be higher than, the price at which the investment could be sold on any particular valuation date. Such valuations will be subject to inherent uncertainty, and will be made under a number of assumptions which may not ultimately be realized. There can be no assurance that the valuations will in fact represent the actual value of the investments or the amounts that could at such time or may ultimately be realized with respect to the investments. Valuation uncertainties may be compounded if there are problems with the economies of the markets in which the Fund operates. Absence of Investment Company Act protection The Fund is not required to, and will not. register as an investment company under the U.S. Investment Company Act of 1940. as amended (the 'Investment Company Act), and, accordingly, the provisions of the Investment Company Act (which, among other things, require investment companies to have a majority of disinterested directors, require securities held in custody to at all times be individually segregated from the securities of any other person and marked to dearly identify such securities as the property of such investment company and regulate the relationship between the adviser and the investment company) are not applicable. Tax risks The Fund ardlor the Investors could become subject to additional or unforeseen taxation in jurisdictions in which the Fund operates or invests. In addition, withholding taxes and other local source taxes may be imposed on the Fund's earnings. These taxes may not be creditable or deductible by the Fund or its subsidiaries or the Investors. While it is intended that the activities of the Fund. the General Partner, the Second GP. the Manager and their respective offices should not create a permanent establishment or other form of taxable presence of the Fund or any of its subsidiaries in any jurisdiction in which the Fund or any of its subsidiaries, or the General Partner, the Second GP, the Manager or any of their respective offices, operates or invests. there is a risk that the relevant tax authorities in one or more of such jurisdictions could take a contrary view. If for any reason the Fund or any of its subsidiaries is held to have a permanent establishment or other such presence in any such jurisdiction, the Fund or such subsidiary could be subject to significant taxation in such jurisdiction. Base Erosion and Profit Shifting The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (the "OECD) together with the G20 countries has committed to reduce perceived abusive global tax avoidance, referred to as base erosion and profit shifting (-REPS"). As part of this commitment, an action plan has been developed to address BEPS with the aim of securing revenue by realigning taxation with economic activities and value creation by creating a single set of consensus based international tax rules. As part of the REPS project ft is anticipated that new rules dealing with the operation of double tax treaties, the definition of permanent establishments and how hybrid instruments are taxed will be introduced. Depending on if and how these proposals are implemented, they may have a material impact on how returns to Investors are taxed. Such implementation may also give rise to additional reporting and disclosure obligations for Investors. Some OECD countries, including the UK, have begun the process of implementing the BEPS proposals. In addition to national implementation of BEPS. the European Council has adopted Anti-Tax Avoidance Directives that address many of the same issues. The measures included in the Anti-Tax Avoidance Directives are required to be implemented into the national law of each EU Member State, to take effect from no later than either January 1. 2019, January 1. 2020 or January 1.2022 depending on the provision and the Member State. These statements are outdated. Both are based on biomarkers not direct measures of disease outcomes. As we note in our new paper, most of the disease data are relatively new. It is important to base decisions on all currently available evidence.

As of July 2020, about 13 percent of people age 65 and older (about 1.1 million people) have lost their jobs during the pandemic. Although unemployment rates for older people are somewhat higher than among workers ages 30 to 64, more noteworthy are the particularly high rates of job loss among older people of Asian descent (19%) or Hispanic or Latino descent (19%). Across all ages, the unemployment rate has been highest among people in the leisure and hospitality industries (29% unemplovment rate). which emploved about 7 percent of older workers prior to the pandemic. More than a third of older adults live in counties with both a high disease prevalence and a high cost of living, reflecting the early prevalence of the pandemic in urban areas.' Notably, the unemployment rate does not capture the number of people who have experienced declines in income, decided to retire earlier than planned, or closed their businesses as a result of the recession. This gap in the employment data is particularly relevant for older workers because almost a quarter (23%) are self-employed. Historically, unemployment has posed longer-lasting challenges to income security for older workers than for younger people." Older workers are more likely to face longer periods of unemployment, and if they find new jobs, are unlikely to earn incomes at previous levels.
