Slender Nurseryweb Spider on Reed - The camouflage is pretty good. It's interesting how they sit with their legs extended in front and behind them to "hide" on the branch/reed. #spider #nature 🕷️

I believe this is Pisaura mirabilis - European Nurseryweb spider.
Spent a great day with the Warwickshire Butterfly Conservation volunteers today making hedgerows and coppicing a prime butterfly and wildlife site. A few blackthorn punctures in my hands though.

Garden wildlife. A surprising find in the front garden today was this Nurseryweb Spider, Pisaura mirabilis. Still quite small, and about half the size of an adult. I've seen plenty in more open areas, but think this is probably the first I've found in my garden. #londonwildlife

Nurseryweb spider, Dolomedes minor. On a forestry track partway up Mount Climie.
The 2nd photo is better for seeing her, but I prefer the 1st as a photograph.

In a GB context, this is THE species of Nurseryweb Spider (Pisaura mirabilis - Poppy's spot on!)). It used to share the family Pisauridae with the Raft spiders Dolomedes fimbriatus and plantarius but they've recently been moved to the family Dolomididae. Great episode!

I’d like to say that’s a nurseryweb, but I’m actually not sure.

In a GB context, this is THE Nurseryweb Spider, Pisaura mirabilis (see Factsheet15 britishspiders.org.uk/factsheets)! It used to share the family Pisauridae with our two Raft spiders, Dolomedes fimbriatus and D. plantarius, but they've recently been moved to the family Dolomididae.
