South Berkshire, UK. About 40 miles west of London. Ivy is happy but not invasive, but some people hate it. They don't know what they are missing!

The Merveille du Jours turned up. Thought I was going to miss out. They, and most of the moths in the garden last night, were ivy flower nectar feeders. Gardeners, leave ivy alone! #Teammoth #Mothsmatter #Gardening

Just one moth from last night's trap. A Red-line Quaker. A new one to me. A moth and a bunch of staggering honey bees who looked like they had been partying! #Teammoth #Mothsmatter

My one Autumn crocus has survived the upheaval of the re-landscaping. It's huge and was a souvenir of a trip to Leiden Botanic Garden. #Gardening🌱

Bishop's Child - grown from seed. Late colour is zingy. Wonder if it is forming a tuber. #Dahlia #Gardening🌱

Definitely Autumn now. Massive numbers of acorns. In today's wind it's quite dangerous under the oaks. It can be painful when a whole fusillade of acorns drop on you from a height! Holly berries; Christmas is coming - groan. #Sixonsaturday #Gardening 🌱

White Dead-nettle is a brilliant wildflower for shade and a magnet for insects. Cow Parsley seems happy in quite deep shade in my woodland garden. Plantains, and sorrel too.

The colourful exterior of the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. They have rehung their Eric Ravilious works. Beautiful in themselves and redolent of a period of time. #Art

If they are like bees they just die and fall to the ground. Maybe there's a queen in there that will hibernate ready to start a new colony next year.
