On 6 Oct the almost full #Perigee #Moon produced some spectacular #lunar #AtmosphericOptics. Very bright right side #paraselene (#moondog) with long #ParaselenicCircle fragment, very prominent lunar #CircumzenithalArc, #UpperTangentArc. Our Auroracam also caught a 120deg paraselene Oxfordshire, UK!

It's called a paraselene. Sometimes there will be two smaller starlike bits that can be seen flanking the halo, and those are called moondogs. Though the whole thing is also called a moondog apparently.
