Have you heard of eagle?
It's been my tool of choice for tagging and categorizing references and such.
It pairs wonderfully with PureRef, too!
(...just....ignore the AI shit they unfortunately used for examples images..)
It has a very handy browser Addon for quick saving, too.

Eagle - Organize design files has never been easier
A better way to collect, search and organize your design files in a logical way and all in one place.

Note-- I'm still setting up everything and have yet to get around to CSP. ...I dunno whether you use CSP or not... but PureRef works, not only does it have .deb and .rpm versions, but it also has a portable version.

teetering on the edge of falling into a new hobby/reigniting my childself's interest in modelmaking, painting, and kitbashing. i've collected almost nine hundred images of former games workshop art director john blanche's paintings and miniatures for reference

I've used every one of these but pureref (not an artist)....
it's on miro. it's literally on figma. you have to log into okta. it's in jira. it's on zoom. it's on pureref. it's on flow. it's on perforce. it's on slack. you can find it on slack. you can go to slack and find it. log onto slack right now. you can slack it. slack has it for you. it's on slack.

lol. fair enough.

If someone said "It's on pureref" to me I'd be like, "????"

Pureref is the only one of those programs that doesn't exude evil energy to me. My precious pureref

Good question! Eagle looks like it's only for MacOS & Windows for now, and requires a license!

PureRef works on Mac, Windows & Linux and is free for personal use (AFAIK)!

ooh how does Eagle compare tk something like PureRef? Or is it mainly just the same program as each other?
November 12, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Got PureRef, thinking it’d help with some of my blender work, so far seems pretty nice, I like having all my stuff in one window that I can arrange and zoom in with

Now I just need to take time and actually work 😅

Suelo usar bastante un programa llamado PureRef para manejar y ver las imágenes que uso refencia en un proyecto. Es gratuito y muy sencillo de utilizar. #ReferencePictures #software

Answering my own question, I just came across PureRef, which I think is going to work perfectly for this project b/c I can install it on my Linux tablet and take the project with me locally. (I might not always have wifi when I need access to it.)

I've done a little testing, and it's really […]

I use pureref as my refs collection program! Inspo moodboard refs all in one. Very simple very efficient I highly recommend!

I dabble with a variety of 3d programs for pose refs but I tend to forget about them a lot 😂 lately, I like magicposer

I also like exploring games and taking screenshots

Minha jornada de programas de arte digital:
- Photoshop / wacom intuos
- Photoshop / wacom intuos draw
- Krita / wacom intuos draw
- Krita / Huion HS64 (atual a 2 anos)

Tirando que o software da Huion buga horrores com o pureref, a mesa é 100% melhor que a da wacom e não volto pra outra mais 👍
My digital art program journey

- Photoshop / Wacom bamboo (graphics tablet)
- Photoshop / Wacom cintiq (screen tablet)
- Photoshop / Huion kamvas (screen tablet)
- CSP / Kamvas
- CSP / Huion inspiroy (graphics tablet)

Almost full circle! 😂
My digital art program journey

- Corel painter /Open canvas
- Paint Tool Sai v.1
- Paint Tool Sai v.2 (Present but not so often)
- Clip Studio Paint V.1/2/3 (Present)
- Procreate (Present)

just realized I don't have MS Paint era (so popular), I skipped directly from traditional to another program.

Also, the gpg check thing effects some proprietary software like PureRef as well. Hopefully we can get those fixed soon

私はpureRef使ってるけど、たまにpureRefだけじゃ足りないときがあってw
だからgoghでもキャラ設定画とか見れるようにするといいかなーって思った

Assembling my big PureRef file for the YCH sketches today (for everyone who has sent over refs and payment so far) and I love seeing it all in one place and visualizing the results in my mind. Gonna be a fun round! 😤🙌
