Retroscoping dni
I suppose one could say that Joel haver's method of retroscoping is generative AI in a way because I assume the technology generates keyframes but they're all based off of his original drawings. It does not make new art as such it interpolates his art to superimpose animation on film.

There are a few limited use cases that are good but they're not flashy so big tech never talks about them.
For example instead of AI generated animation Joel Haver uses AI assisted animation. The AI does not generate art. Instead it takes the grunt work out of retroscoping. He provides the art.

*but* do they enable great things that people want? Also no.

Something in the works. I ended up starting more projects than finishing them. It's tough when animations take much more time to make. Having ADHD also doesn't help 😆

Btw that method of retroscoping has become very popular on YouTube and facilitated more creativity rather than generating random garbage shit.
