People with employers — even the wealthy — don’t generally have a lot of deductions/“loopholes” to avoid tax on those earnings. It’s self-employment and unearned income where there are a lot of opportunities to save on taxes.

I don’t live in MN (sadly), and I’m not familiar with this program. But I’d wager it’s based on previous year’s taxes or similar. Also, I’m not an accountant. Just a small business owner with a newly formed S-Corp because self employment tax for the LLC got to be too crazy. 🤷🏻♀️
