The biggest collection of historic Russian armour outside of Russia is in Finnish museums and store rooms.

Something I've seen their senior military leadership occasionally remind their Russian equivalents of.

Happy Independence Day to all Finns!
Woo happy 108th Independence Day to us 🇫🇮🍾

December is weird for us because of Sinterklaas/St Nicolas, the kids need to be reminded that they're French/German and not Belgian so they are getting chocolate and not gifts, those are for Christmas.

Old argument for EU tech sovereignty: fascism is bad

New argument for EU sovereignty: we might not have a choice if the US hard bricks its tech stack in two years like they appear to be on track to do?

… which is an argument I never thought I’d be making

And they wonder why we say free luigi, and celebrate when their luxury titanic subs implode

Its not because *we* are bad people, its because THEY are bad people
The bottom 90% lost a collective $79 trillion in wages over the past 50 years.

Why? Because the top 1% ate up an increasingly larger share of the national income — so that $79 trillion flowed to them instead of the working class.

The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.

Wealth gives parents *time*, time to navigate deliberately labyrinthine bureaucracies, time to prepare for a confusion of paperwork and deadlines, etc.

Simply having extra time available, makes it easier for a parent to get their kid accomodations.
I keep thinking about LSAC data saying students with accommodations get higher scores.

The most obvious possibility to me is not "some students unfairly get accommodations"; it is, "people with wealth are more likely to get accommodations."

Thought my driving license was in danger with the Explorer EV but the Volvo goes "Hold my Øl!"
Took it for a run on the motorway after dropping the kids off and it was *blip accelerator* instantly 20km/h over the speed limit.

Should convince the wife that driving to Germany and getting a trailer for 600 euros from Hornbach to bring stuff to the tip makes more sense than renting a Sprinter van for the day for 180EUR plus a 500EUR deposit.

HEY KIDS, WANNA WORKSHOP AN ASIAN CUCUMBER JAR SALAD WITH UNCLE KEVIN?

Most of these I’ve seen online are for huge cucumbers and intended for multiple folks, but what if it’s just you? Can we do a single serving for funsies? LET’S TRY.
