#spectravideo
There was a time when I dreamed of an MSX machine; in Poland, Spectravideo MSX models were our taste of that world.

So yeah soon the interest in the spectravideo was lost, i kept playing super nintendo and gameboy games. Until at some point my parents were lets get this nerd a computer and my first one was a pentium 100, windows 95. And oh boy did i spend a lot of time learning just about everything on that.

So my first experience with coding is when we swapped my mom swapped the old atari2600 that i wasnt using because i had a snes by then, for a spectravideo. I think this one. It came with a bad chopper game on tape. It was shit.

The VIC-20 was my second computer (briefly) after the Spectravideo 318. Have to say I didn't like it much as an impatient 10ish year old, but it was unexpanded from what I remember, and also, boy those games look to be pushing the VIC hard!
🕹️ Nice evening of #VIC20 #retrocomputing playing AJ Layden’s new Super VIC TT and Raspberrypioneer’s excellent port of Boulderdash. #HappyPlace

Danish #MSX users! Did you know that the Danish Spectravideo SVI-728 crashes when printing to a non-MSX printer? 😅

The keyboard driver is overlayed on an old version of the international ROM, which uses JP instead of JR in the printing routine. This causes the jump address to be cut off! 😱

Not quite a #retrorandom, as I always post this picture at Christmas ... it's my Spectravideo CompuMate running its Christmas demo (built in!). The Compumate is cute, and makes the Atari into an almost unusably bad computer. But wait, the demo gets better ...

One company (Spectravideo, AKA QuickShot, AKA Bondwell) released all of these controllers for the NES. Wild. From the top left, clockwise: QS-121, QS-112, QS-129N, QS-126. My favorite has to be QS-121 based on the number of incorrect assumptions it raises on first glance

It has been a while, but after recovering from surgery a couple of months ago, I have returned to my retro development activities for Colecovision, MSX, Spectravideo, and Sega SG-1000 machines.

Spectravideo is no Imagic, but...

Now I feel I need to give it a peek as well.

Let's get #FujiNet onto Spectravideo! FujiNet (FujiNet.online) is a WiFi adapter for a growing number of systems. There is a bring up happening for #MSX, which could bootstrap an effort for #SVI. If you can help, go to our Discord, link on website :)

For a machine called the "Spectravideo," how come it's a grey and white box with only a tiny splash of red?
