Black Death and Plague of Justinian were the same event per him.

Also only Spinoza was the only Jew ever put under cherem
January 14, 2026 at 2:45 AM
What the fuck are you even on about? Spinoza is not the only Jew in history to be put under cherem.
January 14, 2026 at 2:25 AM
I'm sure we can

But are you aware that Baruch Spinoza was/is the only Jew to be 'excommunicated'

For categorically proving that modern Judaism, after 600CE is a political system not a religion?

Most Jews are atheists also, whether they know it or not

Ban all religions & we can all move forward

I want to inform you that I just have signed an executive order that every teenager in this country up to the age of 80 has to read “On the Improvement of the Understanding” from a Dutch guy called Spinoza until summer.
Please be sure to get a copy, no AI shit and stuff allowed. Thank you

What appealed to me was the idea that every individual has problems in the face of 'the State', 'the Market', 'the Workforce', etc., and finding one's own active force in that. Definitely appealed to my reading of Spinoza, can see the Nietzschian strands etc. But I can certainly see how this gets

Baruch Spinoza, the father of this thought experiment ultimately argued that sound waves are *always* interpreted by a universal perceiver. Of course he meant capital G God, but what if perception is also a function of matter, as quantum mechanics suggest? Was Spinoza onto something? Love it!

Where Kuroda found metaphysical nourishment in Miyazawa, anime, and visual novels, Deleuze found it in:

• Spinoza (cosmic immanence),
• Bergson (metamorphic time),
• Kafka (becoming‑minor),
• Artaud (body without organs),

Deleuze escaped through:
• Spinoza (immanence),
• Bergson (duration),
• Nietzsche (affirmation),
• Kafka (minor literature),
• Artaud (body without organs),
• cinema (non-human perception),
• painting (zones of intensity).

Spinoza

Spinoza gave Deleuze:
• a universe without transcendence,
• a single substance expressing infinite modes,
• ethics as power of becoming,
• the idea that everything is immanent and connected.

This is Deleuze’s equivalent to Miyazawa’s cosmic ecology.

🌱 1. Deleuze’s Miyazawa: Literature of Metamorphosis and Immanence

Kuroda found in Miyazawa:
• metamorphosis,
• cosmic immanence,
• ethical intensity,
• non‑positivist spirituality,
• a world where beings transform rather than “mean.”

Deleuze found the same in Spinoza, Bergson, and Kafka.

Another conference acceptance - I will be presenting a paper titled 'Spinoza on Virtue and the Knowledge of God' in April in my old home city of Edinburgh. I lived there for 5 years, and haven't been back since 2022. It'll be strange seeing the place again.

At least they’re asking you! Haven’t got anyone to bite on my Jung/Spinoza takes yet, it doesn’t seem to get the sparks flying

(from “On Reading”):

“All fellow readers who have ever taken a book along to a humble restaurant will understand my saying that life has few enjoyments as stoical and pure as reading Spinoza’s Ethics, evening after evening, in a strange city… [+]

Is het zo erg?
