Une étude semble montrer que le chocolat (la théobromine pour être précis) ralentit le vieillissement.
A consommer avec modération bien sur (trop de sucre/graisse = mauvais).

Same for theobromine in chocolate.

Though I *Wish* caffeine made Me go fast, it's just makes me....tired, but sometimes still enough to focus so I still use it.

That was easy, alcohol is toxic for cats and dogs, other foods like cocoa (theobromine), coffee & black or green tea (caffeine), macadamia nuts, avocados, garlic, onions or xylit are also toxic.

Based on my reading raccoons tend to have lower levels of cytochrome p450 activity
in their livers which would put them at higher risk of damage from xenobiotics like caffeine and theobromine…..with that being said I have no evidence that they don’t have alternative mechanisms for clearance 🤷🏽‍♂️

So fun fact, mice and rats have human levels of tolerance to theobromine, relative to body weight

I get that this is likely just a bit of fun, but people do not feed your dogs chocolate, it's toxic to them. They cannot metabolise theobromine.
December 19, 2025 at 11:53 AM
They cannot metabolise theobromine, they need prompt treatment because it can induce vomiting, diarrhea, seizures and worse.

Dogs are scavengers sure, but like all scavenger animals they don't just eat everything they lay their eyes on.

Years ago, I published on how #theobromine improves mood and blood pressure, so nice to see these benefits extend to #aging as well (bring on the #hotchocolate)

"A natural chemical in dark chocolate may play a role in slowing certain signs of biological aging. Researchers at King's College London have identified theobromine, a plant compound found in cocoa, as a possible contributor to this effect."

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

I blame Theobromine.

Now I just need someone to rework the classic WW2 car-pooling propaganda poster. The one that declares, "When you drive alone, you're driving with Hitler." Can someone make a 2025 version about resharing Putin's Social media posts?

Kthxbye.

Dogs aren’t allergic to chocolate, well I guess anyone can be allergic to anything, it’s that their livers can’t metabolize theobromine
