Toorop is one of my favorites. He was of Dutch and Indonesian ancestry and incorporated various elements from Asia into his work. He was also a convert and involved in Catholic labor rights movements in the Netherlands.

I've been to the National Gallery to see Radical Harmony, aka really excellent post-Impressionist collection that is weirdly undersold in the marketing. Will post more when I'm not trying to survive 12 hours without being able to charge my phone. Do go if you can. It made me enjoy Jan Toorop, blimey
