Right. Third day in a row of drinking this. Quality stuff. Was on offer at £8 but I think it’s gone back up to £11. Will report back.

Don’t do dry January fgs. It’s cold outside

Complete with its own vine nursery in the Barossa, Yalumba-owner Hill-Smith Family Estates has all the resources to trial new grape varieties to combat climate change. The problem, says head of sustainability Louisa Rose, is the consumer. Eloise Feilden reports.

Bottle after bottle of cheap "champagne style" sparkling wine that was so old it was the colour of malt vinegar.

And these two. A Yalumba "White Burgundy" from 1988 that looks like it might be passed its best and a bottle of sherry from a Winery that went out of business years ago.

Yalumba 2025 VINE VALE #barossavalley #grenacheblanc #vegan - Attractive aromas of pears & white peaches + a hint of florals. Magnificent mouth filling flavours of ripe pears with a hint of nectarines leading to a lovely zippy, refreshing finish. OUTSTANDING!

Brandivino by Yalumba

( the latter may have featured in the lyrics of a Cold Chisel song about an all night cafe in Newcastle called Sweathearts, but my recollections may be distorted by time and ethanol … )
