one time it rained really hard and i didnt have an umbrella to protect my books or my skull so I just sat under this overpass for an hour waiting for the rain to stop while listening to yume nikki fangame music, it was an inconvenience back then but such a precious memory now....

I still consider .flow the overall best Yume Nikki fangame out of the entire batch. A great main character design, fantastic sprite art, a unique identity that doesn't feel like it's cribbing from its inspirations despite having the same core gameplay. It's rare for a fangame to feel like that.

I want more fangame like dream genie because yume nikki when you play for the first time is really confusing but fangames are too similare, they use the same tropes and game design things, they feel way less weird and unique !!!! We need more weird Fangame !!!!

I got the motivation to do stuff again!
Resuming work on my Yume Nikki fangame, I finally updated this 2 year old dialogue portrait to be more accurate to the in-game sprite.

Old portrait. Leans more towards chibi-like proportions and looks a little unserious. New portrait. Less chibi and more accurate to the in-game sprite (refer to my older posts).

i wonder if dreambiance itself should have its own subgenres named after yume nikki/fangame locations or something

because some dreambiance is really heavily based on drone ambience while some dreambiance has a lot of shifting and percussive elements...
