My lab is attempting ancestral reconstruction of some very large trees using ALEml (amalgamated likelihood). Does anyone know if a multithreaded implementation of ALE is available somewhere? Our HPC is unhappy with us running a single thread for >24h on the bigmem node...

To me the increasing economical and political power of older people, who have no stake in the future, is a concern. Lack of economic growth also challenges our social fabric, leading to polarization, especially combined with high inequality... but both still easier than climate change...
