If you’re at #AMS2025 consider this town hall!

The requirements for a federal government “meteorologist” (the 1340 series) are from the 1990s. Many undergraduate programs use these guidelines in curriculum planning. Modernizing the requirements would close the gap with a modernize curriculum.

I talked to Nature about the latest development at NSF, which is a five-alarm fire for American science. The scale of immediate impact is massive. We narrowly escaped this affecting @viralemergence.org for now, but will have to shut down in a few months if this stays.
