Very interesting article on the damage a rogue localizer can do to a game as Silksong's Chinese release sits at 52% positive - the translator not only shared a bunch of info pre-release, breaking NDA, the localization itself was highschool-flowery. A Tale of Two Texts

To illustrate the calamity, one need only place the original Hollow Knight’s translation beside Silksong’s.

The original:

Concise. Clean. Haunting.

Now behold the Silksong version, which players were forced to endure — rendered here in English as the grotesque monstrosity it resembled:
