We urge all of our members, friends, and neighbors to contact their representative to ask them to support the repeal bill, and to follow the Illinois Coalition for Human Rights to find more ways to support it.

Two years after Israel’s invasion of the Gaza Strip, the vast majority of Illinoisans want our country’s relationship with Israel to change, and certainly do not want Springfield to signal unconditional support for the Israeli government’s policies.

The law is so extreme that it also applies to illegal settlements outside of Israel that exist solely to deny Palestinians a state of their own. Meanwhile, there is nothing to keep Illinois from investing in companies owned by American anti-Semites and Islamophobes like Elon Musk.

In 2015, Republican Governor Bruce Rauner signed a law that would force Illinois to divest public pension funds from any company that chose to boycott Israel because of their record of human rights violations.

Today @sanders.senate.gov is introducing resolution to block arms transfers to Israel. Senate Joint Resolution 34 and 41 would prevent the sale of guns, bombs, and support systems that have let the Israeli government dispossess, disenfranchise, and kill Palestinians in the West Bank and in Gaza.

ICE has chosen to detain her for no reason other than it would be easy for them to do so, and they must release her.

And Gladis is not a unique case. This criminal agency is working on behalf of our criminal President to attack people who pose no risk to anybody just to get their numbers up.

Gladis was arrested during a routine check-in with the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program, which he has dutifully followed while pursuing asylum in the United States. She has no criminal record and is a danger to no one. She is gainfully employed and has close family here.
