I really like the relationship between the Hunter and Handler in that game; it reminds me a bit of the WoL and Tataru. The fact that the Hunter is this fearsome undefeatable warrior, but he knows to wait for the Handler to let him off the leash first, is very interesting.

I do think she does that, but that's not what the book is in this case 😂
This one was based on Monster Hunter Wilds, where the MC hunter has this "Handler" NPC named Alma. She's an ecologist, and her job is to determine which monsters are vital parts of ecosystems, and which ones are threats.
