For those who want a quick recap on epidemiology:

It was plumbing that ended the cholera epidemic, not drinking sewage over and over to strengthen everyone's immune system.

So that's why I built this thing. It's the new hygienic infrastructure that we need to get our lives back.

The COVID-19 pandemic did take peoples rights away… and it is still taking people’s rights away.

Even if you don’t realise it. Your right to safer air and better health has been taken away.

COVID-19 cases are still high, so be sure to know the facts and avoid the myths in order to protect yourself and others.
COVID-19 myths vs. facts. myth: If I’ve already had COVID-19 once, I’m immune from getting it again. Fact: There is no limit on how many times you can get COVID-19. Reinfection is common, and each new infection raises your risk of serious illness, organ damage, Long COVID, and more. COVID-19 myths vs. facts. myth: I won’t get COVID-19 as long as I wash my hands well. Fact: It’s always a good idea to wash your hands, but COVID-19 spreads primarily through the air and respiratory droplets, so handwashing is much less likely to prevent COVID-19 than wearing masks. COVID-19 myths vs. facts. myth: I don’t need to wear masks if I’ve already been vaccinated.Fact: Vaccines can reduce your risk of infection, and if you do get sick after being vaccinated, you are much less likely to experience severe illness or death, but it is still possible to get COVID-19 and spread it to others even if you’ve been vaccinated, so it’s a good idea to keep masking.

Boston schools 👏👏👏

Leading the way since 2020. They invested in IAQ sensors in every classroom across the district.

"By having real-time data, you can make smart, targeted, strategic investments in your school buildings, especially when resources are limited."

Sensors are not enough.
You need experts too.

July 1, 2024, I started working at the IRS. I was still living in a tent at the time. I spent the first month going to work and acting like not a thing was wrong. I lucked into housing on July 27, 2024. I was there exactly a year. Now I'm inches away from being homeless again.

😷📊: The latest COVID-19 data offer conflicting information about whether or not we’ve passed the peak of this year’s summer/early fall surge.

Read the full update here: tinylink.net/nGCo6
An orange background and a meter indicating high levels of SARS-CoV-2. The text reads: The latest COVID-19 data offer conflicting information about whether or not we’ve passed the peak of this year’s summer/early fall surge.

Wastewater data from the CDC report a stark increase in SARS-CoV-2 activity for the week ending September 6. And the CDC’s dashboard finally labels national wastewater SARS-CoV-2 activity as “high” for the first time since this wave started.

In contrast, healthcare system data from the CDC report declining COVID-19 levels in early September, both nationally and for some states in the South and West.

Betsy’s best guess at interpreting this: COVID-19 is still going up in some places and down in others, and the test positivity data are reflecting more of the latter while wastewater data reflect more of the former. The chart on slide 2 is a chart from Biobot Analytics titled, "Regional SARS-CoV-2 Wastewater Concentrations." The Y axis represents effective concentration of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater, copies per mL, and the X axis represents time, spanning from May 2024 to September 2025. The chart includes four lines representing U.S. regions: pink for the South, yellow for the Northeast, purple for the Midwest, green for the West. All four regions saw COVID-19 waves in summer 2024, winter 2024-25, and summer 2025, though there are regional differences. The Northeast and Midwest had much higher levels than the other two regions in winter 2024-25, and the South and West had higher levels in summer 2025. Viral levels may have peaked for this wave in the South and West, according to the latest update (as of early September). Remaining text on slide 3 reads: The Sick Times will be following the CDC’s vaccine advisory committee meeting later this week — a committee now full of COVID-19 deniers.

Speaking of denial: a new CDC report, published last week, claims that COVID-19 is no longer a leading cause of death in the U.S. as of 2024. The report is based on death certificate data, which have undercounted COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic. This pattern has likely gotten worse as testing became less available in recent years. The agency has also not released any updates on deaths from Long COVID since early 2024.
