Captured by @ewacat.bsky.social in my aspect as a ghastly figure that pursues a sheltered academic to madness in an MR James story

For too long, a secret elite has wielded power over the rest of us. Faceless, nameless, they are unaccountable. They can't be protested, they can't be voted out. You'll never know if you pass one in the street but you'll hear about their influence ever day.

I'm beyond proud and excited to announce my hugely popular Alchemised fanfic has been picked up by a publisher and will be released in 2026!

To avoid copyright issues, all the Alchemised settings and lore will be stripped out and replaced with a whimsical but poorly considered magical school

I've found out how to do something in excel and laughed like a B movie villain. What have I become?

Like it or not, people answering obviously rhetorical questions is here to stay

Why are all the bad things "here to stay" and all the things I love up for constant debate until they're eroded out of life altogether?

Blum too. At least find a new way to say "it's here to stay" jfc

But to the Travel Lodge. Are they allowed to bring it to the castle?

Do you think they're bringing cocaine into the castle for them all, or is #celebritytraitors also rehab?

I disapprove of conspiracy theories but if I wanted to get my production of Waiting for Godot a spot of buzz I wouldn't be good enough to come up with this

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

I've put a play through of the Beginner's Guide on in this background while I do some boring numbers work and I am so fond of that game, and there are people who misunderstood it so badly I sometimes think about them when I can't sleep

You know who doesn't integrate? People like Robert Jenrick. You think he works out at the local leisure centre? Goes to the Tuesday night pub quiz? You think his golf club lets anyone play? Or his private members' clubs let anyone in? He puts the ick in prick
