DESCRIPTION Benjamin Hubbell, the architect of the Cleveland Museum of Art, acquired this vase from Louis Comfort Tiffany, with whom he collaborated on various projects. The shape of the nautilus shell provides the perfect space to conceal a light bulb, the newest form of technology at the time. As a result, this lamp was a critical success and sold both in this original form and with the later alteration of a bronze mermaid for the stand and an actual nautilus shell for the shade.

I’ve never had a Tamagotchi before, I just babysat a friend’s in middle school, and it died 😓 That plus Nintendog trauma really kept me afraid of games like this but it’s fun! I’m gonna unlock all the guys!

Immigrants and Americans pay USCIS for services. It has nothing to do with Congress. So what the USCIS director is saying is that he will steal those fees and spend them on other stuff so that people get mad at Democrats. He should be impeached. This is fraud.

A few found cars is enough to appease folks that mass surveillance is OK for those small wins but here are the important takeaways: 1. Police are so shockingly cozy with the multi-billion dollar companies that sell surveillance tech that you have to ask who is actually making policy.

Big takeaway here is a mass erosion of barriers between governmental and corporate data collection/surveillance--and the idea that the one-off surveillance of walking past a single CCTV camera is over, the consolidation of ALL data means true mass surveillance from 100 redundant pieces of data.
