This is…

A) …market-moving information. And, in fact, it appears there was action on Polymarket around the time of this post

B) …another attack on the (still reliable) work of the professionals at BLS.

C) …yet another example of him not believing the rules apply to him, and getting away w it
Kai, could you educate us with a few sentences why?

#akleg Op-ed from Claman to pair with SJR2, a constitutional amendment to lower the veto threshold in Alaska. This makes a ton of sense to me, Alaska has the highest threshold in the nation and this is a good way to reign in executive power.
Opinion: Alaska’s budget shouldn’t hinge on a supermajority
A 1959-era veto rule gives governors outsized power over today’s Legislature — and Senate Joint Resolution 2 would finally restore balance.

#akleg Oh. The House passed ACA subsidy extensions!? I wonder if that puts Sen. Sullivan in a tough spot. I guess I won't be surprised if he suddenly changes his tune when his performative support actually risks passage.

oldhead advice from an oldhead.

every couple years, newcomers to the movement think "THIS is finally it, the moment when the dam breaks and the whole system is overthrown"

and when it doesn't happen they lose patience and get disillusioned and drop out of movement work

gotta build for long term

To be clear, Democrats have already written this legislation. Variations on the theme exist in the End Hedge Fund Control of American Homes Act, the Stop Wall Street Landlords Act, and the HOMES act.

This whole thread! Advocating for yourself as a cartoonist can be difficult and frustrating and frankly kind of gaslighty for so many reasons. Having an editor/agent/writer who is inexperienced with graphic novel production makes it ten times more difficult, unless they are great communicators.
I wish I'd thought sooner to explain to tradpub editors that illustrating a graphic novel is not like writing a prose novel or illustrating a picture book, a 250-page GN is actually like illustrating eight picture books.
