A very happy birthday to Rumiko Takahashi! Born on October 10, 1957 in Niigata, she is entering into her 47th year as a mangaka! Happy birthday, sensei!

I'm SO impressed with the pattern and guide though. If you need an animal mask for whatever reason, these are an amazing deal. So much work and thought went into the instructions and they're very clear.

I'd like to be "Sussy" for Halloween so last night I put together this 50% scale mask based on a Paleo Panthera pattern. (The hat needs work lol)

The good news is it's very open-ended and as a respondent there's no requirement to answer every question. It's open to individual Canadians.

I've compiled the questions for now, if I have time I'll put together a little guidance doc. I certainly have lots of thoughts on this.

Interesting survey. Mostly looking for feedback about how Canada should position itself "strategically". Not a lot in here about copyright, jobs and the arts (not that it isn't something they care about, just not the focus of the study)

Hanging onto every bit of good news

The river has come alive in the Klamath with wild Chinook salmon. The wider ecosystem is healing.

This most powerful story of Indigenous-led #rewilding after the largest dam removal in US history keeps getting better.

How do I explain to offline people that my favorite Japanese mascot said "we can only be liberated from queer oppression if we are truly seen as human" and then started wielding fireworks like a rocket launcher on the side of a mountain without sounding like I've totally lost it?

Chiitan has a dream.
I hope that one day the term LGBT will become a thing of the past.
I will continue to spread my message until we live in a world where everyone can love freely and is free from persecution and discrimination.
Until then, let's all support each other🤍

Here's an example of a fandom one in case you've never encountered it before, they're often called 'reanimated' but I have seen other types too www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOXZ...

Like obviously they've been going for awhile in fandom but to have them paired with Indie (and bigger) musicians for 'official' music video is SO cool. What a neat way to bring together and celebrate a ton of talent without burning out any single creative

I saw another one of these MAP (mutli animator project) music videos drop yesterday and I really hope it becomes a bigger trend because it's rad as hell youtu.be/dYIqX7ZLMyE

This is still open. Canadians, if you're concerned about payment processors interfering with your ability to access legal content (and stand with adult creatives against censorship), make sure to sign!

here's my take: I think humans are really fucking good. inherently. I think we are amazingly kind and giving. and everything about the world we live in is an attempt to stop us from being that. I think our societies step in to stop us from being good. I think our culture punishes us. but we ARE good

new in disto! "If You Don't Like The Game, Change The Rules: Alternative Modes of Videogame Production", by Marie Leblanc Flanagan, explores video game labour practices through the story of three friends who decide to start a worker co-op together.

The cover of the zine "If You Don't Like The Game, Change The Rules: Alternative Modes of Videogame Production", by Marie Leblanc Flanagan. Behind the zine are a bunch of little creatures with speech bubbles saying things like "union?", "co-op", "so tired" and "four-day work week", from the back cover of the zine, along with a speech bubble that says "we're world designers, why can't we design a world we'd want to live in?"

Cartoon: Since I'm up late here's Architect (or in my case LARchitect!) of Hallowe'en! Day03 of #fantasmicalloween2025. Also my avatar for the rest of the month :D Enjoy!
cartoon of myself in a Norman Rockwell homage. As I draw a Halloween portrait of myself (as a Frankenstein monster) my reflection is a bearded Halloween skeleton. My cat, Diogee, observes from one side, a grinning jack o'lantern from the other and a raven perches on top of the easel. Caption: Larchitect of Hallowe'en

i’m not on threads but i did come across these posts about the Canada Post strike from someone on there that i felt worth sharing… mostly because i wanted to make a similar thread on this but haven’t had a chance to do the price comparisons. 1/

Welcome to my Canada Post crash-out.
Letters are urgent business.
Canada Post offers 2-4 day delivery for letters.
Bank cards, drivers licenses, voting cards, medical appointments, cancer biopsy results, abnormal cervical screenings, blood tests, jury duty, court dates, university transcripts, parking tickets, passports, and legal documents are all mailed through Canada Post.
Letters are not flyers.
They are not Burger King coupons.
