Share a cartoon from the past that kids today probably never heard of.

It’s ironic that this happens the day after the Luxon Govt announced it will make the climate crisis worse by letting the dairy industry off the hook for its superheating methane emissions.

What an unabating trend 😳

More waves crashing on the sandcastles of hopium. I'm famously pessimistic, but the data continues to surprise me to the downside. It's relentless. We've not seen anything like this for 45 years. Compounding, mutually reinforcing, job-killing dynamics. (1/2)

Same data but just for September months. Completely unnecessary self flagellation. It's like all the lessons learned on the need for fiscal kick-starts are being roundly ignored. Small island, housing ponzi, rogergnomics, 8-wire, whip the poor exceptionalism. (2/2)

I think people are getting sick of a government who prioritise …

Landlords over ferries
Ciggie companies over health
Reducing H&S over saving lives
Car speeds over injured kids
Culture wars over equality
Meth use over decriminalisation
“Feels” over evidence

Sick of it me!

I’m sick of RW govts trying to separate “the unions” from their members.

“The unions” can’t take strike actions without balloting members. “The unions” aren’t forcing members to strike; they can’t. Members are voting to strike, because of shite offers from this govt.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon blames unions for ongoing strike action
"I think people are getting sick of unions prioritising the politics over patients," Christopher Luxon says.

I’m one who really liked the lockdowns and it completely cemented the ability to work from home full time. I’ve been to the office once this year.

God the LW leadership in this country is so fucking mild mannered and bland. Where has the spine gone?

Someone said he’ll be waiting until a date in November when his lifelong MP entitlements will kick in. Is that a true thing?

Can’t agree that Chippie suffers from a Covid association - he suffers from a lack of fire in his belly, ambivalence, more right than left and zero charismatic leadership.

That must be so frustrating! Enough on your plate 🙄

This is pretty obvious, but changing our tax systems from the 80’s onwards to “protect the wealth creators” has been highly successful.

The “wealth creators” have felt very protected, retained all the wealth and now control your media, your government, & your life in so many ways.

The solutions proposed for New Zealand's (and virtually every other country's) problems are always like:
"We need to make people work for more years"
"We have to cut back on services, I'm sorry, there is just no other way"
"We have to cut benefits for young people"

never:
"We need to tax the rich"

Absofuckinglutely. What drives me nuts is the apparently "left" party of Labour buys into it, we "worry" about scaring the rich away, capital flight. They're not contributing to society they are draining it. If they don't want to contribute they can fuck off and good riddance.
