We need to stop giving obviously racist people the benefit of the doubt, allowing them to give non-apologies and carry on without consequences

Being racist should mean you lose your job

Being racist should mean you are shunned

That’s how we defeated it before, and that’s how we defeat it again
It seems one of the tells that some people move effortlessly from flags to asylum, from colour to immigration, from patriotism to hatred without realising they are revealing their ugly inner selves.

This is the BNP 2005 manifesto: it is a much more moderate proposal than that of Chris Philp and Katie Lam for the 2025 Conservatives since BNP accepted that people settled here legally have legal status (which the 2025 Conservatives do not recognise) and so proposes voluntary incentives to leave.
Is Andrew Windsor still in-line for the throne?

To be clear: deportations to increase cultural homogeneity is the text book definition of ethnic cleansing. Demands that come even close to this are so far outside any democratic norm and the rule of law. What has happened to a country when this is not condemned in the strongest possible terms?
The National Front has another voice in Parliament. Happy days for racists everywhere.

A Conservative MP tipped as a future party leader has been condemned for saying large numbers of legally settled families must be deported, in order to ensure the UK is mostly “culturally coherent”.

Tory MP criticised after demanding legally settled families be deported
Katie Lam said move would make UK ‘culturally coherent’ and that a large number of people ‘need to go home’

"British Indians" contains probably a broader range of perspectives than white British. As well as regional and class differences there's a layer of origin storie (partition? Post partition? East Africa? Contemporary professional?) that dont really have a parallel.
Give him a chance. He's not had a year in power.
I think the TSM and even broarder curry love thing has a generational element to it. Curry used to be about the only eating out option. It was THE treat. Average age of punters in our local places feels much older than it was, sometimes almost empty while Nandos is rammed with younger people.
Who are you calling revolting?

Oh no. He was a giant.
Is there such a thing as A level standard? How is it measured?

Is there now an A level in English Language as opposed to English Literature?

Which party underperformed the most in the 2025 local elections?

Arguably Reform UK. A 🧵 on what the locals tell us about a key and neglected dimension in analysis of the current political situation.
No defence of this error but it combines several themes that perhaps lent it credence;
- cronyism/corruption(see also covid)
- dislike of Blair (see Iraq)
- political dynasties
- Blair's continual presence, see also 'his' people in government

Badenoch's desire to remove Stamp Duty only helps the wealthy, whilst those starting out get no benefit. It is a ridiculous idea with no concept of how to fund it and will drive market prices up, making it even more difficult for 1st time buyers. She and the Tories only help each other not us
Utter joke of an 'analysis' on Sky News of Badenoch's announcement of a multi-billion hole in the next Tory budget.

Not even a squeak of 'where's the money coming from?'.

Rachel Reeves is not being allowed to sneeze without being asked how she's going to pay for it.

The UAE is an authoritarian autocracy, a petro-state with no income tax for citizens, to bribe them for the lack of democratic voice or free speech

It is 85% migrant, a segregated society with a ban on integration in principle and practice, few rights, equal opportunities, nor voice for incomers

Jenrick is a potential case study for the hypothesis that quite a few Conservative MPs and Spads whose brains have been marinated in Right wing American social media are increasingly being sucked into a civil war mindset that has embedded itself among many leading MAGA Trump figures.
