#HealingCentered #peacebuilding is strength-based. It recognises systems and structures supporting recovery and rebuilding are often greatly damaged by the same violence and #trauma.

Key to the approach is interventions are not just about raising awareness but behavior change.
A complex systems map titled 'Wellbeing and Resilience: A grounded theory using a trauma-informed lens for a healing-centered peacebuilding approach.' The map branches into three main approaches, represented by different colored icons: A blue 'Psychosocial Programming Approach,' a red 'Ignore It Approach,' and a green 'A Healing-Centered Peacebuilding Approach.' The map also includes a purple 'Mental Health Approach.' Each branch contains numerous illustrated elements showing various aspects like community engagement, mental health support, and conflict resolution. The left side shows challenges and interventions, while the right side shows healing and positive outcomes. Multiple small illustrations depict people in various situations, from community meetings to healing activities. The map includes both problematic approaches to avoid and constructive solutions to implement. A credit line indicates this is from research by A. Yoder-Maina, 2020, at the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

Every federal department has a RIF plan. And back in February, they were all ordered to update them. RIFs can be legal, if they follow the plan. But based on the President’s comments yesterday, there is good reason to believe that (a) they aren’t, or (b) the plan itself is illegal. My bet is (a).

I think it should be clear at this point that like the US federal government has collapsed.

There are no branches. There are no rules.

There is just one man and his truth social posts.

ICE has a history of preying on the most vulnerable and abusing people in their custody.

Many have died preventable deaths.

Two disabled people are currently being detained and denied all reasonable accommodations.

It’s eugenics. It’s cruelty for cruelty’s sake.
Disabled People are Being Mistreated in ICE Detention Facilities
Why is no one talking about it? Where's the media? Where's the public outcry? Another example of the pervasive nature of ableism and how society views disabled people as expendable.

Towns and parishes saw dollar signs. Private operators saw opportunity. And people became profit centers. This is the immigration detention economy in action.
angiyo.bsky.social
Case in point (2019): Louisiana. After criminal justice reforms freed up jail space, ICE moved in. Why? Money. ICE pays ~$65/day per detained immigrant. The state pays just $24/day—a rate unchanged for 10+ years.

The US has long relied on mass incarceration to address economic and social unrest. Private prison companies don't just exploit this tendency—they actively drive it, especially in immigration.

Republicans declare themselves patriots, then turn around and block the paychecks of the men and women who defend America.

And what’s really wild, some of those same troops keep voting red while getting screwed over again and again.

The nation’s largest private prison company is asking the Supreme Court to give federal contractors blanket immunity from lawsuits — including human trafficking claims.

If they win, private contractors could operate with even less accountability than they do now.
The Human Trafficking Case That Could Hand Government Contractors Blanket Immunity
In a little-noticed Supreme Court case, the country’s largest private prison operator argues companies should be shielded from lawsuits when doing the government’s dirty work.

Due to Tennessee’s abortion ban, Mayron Hollis was forced to continue a pregnancy that threatened her life. An emergency delivery left her without a uterus and her baby with medical issues.

This was their first year in a post-Roe state (pub. Feb. 2024):
She Was Denied an Abortion After Roe Fell. This Is a Year in Her Family’s Life.
Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.

Trump just threatened to impose severe, unprecedented tariffs on Chinese imports. He won’t negotiate with Xi at the upcoming APEC summit, choosing to sink the global economy. The Dow is already down 300 points. This will devastate American small businesses and cause your expenses to skyrocket.

Federal employees across the government are now receiving layoff notices, a devastating outcome of Trump’s political games. It’s outrageous that he would use people’s livelihoods as pawns to “score political points”.
