Oh, and the price of gold is at a record high. I'm sure that's just a coincidence <sarcasm>

Economic wonk alert. The Fed has been stepping in more frequently to keep the short term "repo market" liquid (corporation-to-corporation finance deals). Normally, this is an extremely rare thing:

ICE spent $800K on vans with stingray tech that collects data from all nearby phones, even yours. These devices mimic cell towers to track locations and intercept communications. Oversight and transparency are needed now.

The mainstream media loves making it seam like dysfunction in Washington is coming from both parties.

Hello?

Much of the GOP no longer accepts the rule of law, or the norms of democracy, or the legitimacy of the opposing party.

Enough of the false equivalence.

This is the genius of the Portland protests - they make the claims of lawlessness look not just wrong, but comical

Trump might have immunity, but ICE does not.

He won’t be able to protect federal agents from criminal and civil prosecution once he’s gone.

Their day of reckoning will come. Broken down here…

Trump is the insurrection
And the Supreme Court's conservatives are his shock troops.

He says this around 12 minutes into the podcast.

Just to be clear, he's talking not just about the Maga extremists, but about the people in the middle who don't know or care how dangerous Trump is.

"If the American people accept what is happening right now, then I guess the American experiment is over. And that's really the most terrifying thing. Not what Donald Trump is doing, but what Americans might allow Donald Trump to do"

Of all the many, many questions Pamela Jo Bondi refused to answer today, the most incendiary was about whether she's seen photos of Donald Trump with unclothed underage girls. It is so damning that she couldn't just say, "No."

I've been banging this drum for the past four months or so: DOGE and Russ Vought broke the appropriations process. What's the point of going through the arduous process of crafting 12 spending bills, clearing them through committee and getting them through two chambers if Trump does rescissions?
vermontgmg.bsky.social
If appropriations bills are not seen as enforceable contracts, why should any Member of Congress vote to fund any part of the federal government under Donald Trump? You're voting to provide money for lawlessness. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/there-is-n...
There is no budget "deal" to be made
President Trump has so broken the constitutional framework as to make joint normal, responsible government impossible.

"Putin couldn't do a better job" of attacking America.

How do we know this isn't Putin's doing?
apparentlynormal.bsky.social
That’s a completely bullshit interpretation. The plain meaning of the words is obvious. The courts should take about 10 minutes to issue a temporary restraining order against this, but with this court system, who knows

All these headlines saying “Bondi Goes on the Attack.” Really? She wasn’t in the octagon, she’s a public servant who was at an oversight hearing. Her job was to answer questions. She refused to do her job. Stop glamorizing and whitewashing this moronic, performative bullshit.

This little twerp, who’s been there a few months, axed two of the lions of WaPo??

Fisher is an investigative champion and had been at The Post for 39 years. Hoffman had been there for 42, and he won a Pulitzer LAST YEAR.
oliverdarcy.bsky.social
Last week, new WaPo opinion editor Adam O'Neal quietly carried out another purge of staffers, cutting editors and major names like Marc Fisher and David Hoffman, among others.

Meanwhile, he welcomed three conservatives to the section.
