The George Santos pardon is almost cartoonishly partisan. Immediately upon granting it, Trump justified it by whatabouting a Democratic officeholder's alleged stolen valor, and then pointed to Santos' impeccable Republican voting record. Transparently Schmittian stuff.

Right: he's treating Treasury accounts like slush funds to pay military personnel, he's buying luxury jets for cabinet members with our $$, he's using state power to extort bribes to fund his stupid ballroom, and now he wants to help himself to a 9-figure sum while fed workers aren't getting paid.

There is a group of people currently in charge of this country who cannot be allowed to rule us under any circumstance, and who must be dealt with in ways that ensure they can never, as a class, return to power. Their enablers need to be similarly punished. Consequences FIRST, reconciliation later.
