There is absolutely zero chance that a man who took $50,000 in cash in a paper bag from an FBI agent on camera would have been appointed to any position by any other president.

I just read an article stating that NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab is firing ~500 employees…and yet this reporting on Trump’s daughter in law is the dumbest thing I’ve read today…

This is correct, in part - as the grim, military historian in me feels the need to note - it is psychologically much harder to get soldiers to open fire on people they view as 'respectable.'

And I dread, with grim increasingly certainty, that we are headed to a point where that matters.

protests against this government should include white Boomer grandmothers who meet for pilates class, get a pitcher of mimosas & walk together to the public space

we need people in the street who think everyone can talk their way out of a speeding ticket, they're key to winning

Hegseth’s willingness to gleefully send that order forward is the sole qualification he needed to get that job. That and total obsequiousness…

It’s why nothing else he does will result in his removal.

Notice how bystanders start whistling the moment the Gestapo leave the car--a warning to the vulnerable and a call to action for those ready to exercise their rights to record government agents, protest said agents, and petition the government for redress (in person!).

I never called it a genocide, I know people are going to quibble over the technical definition.

I believe it’s one of the biggest war crimes I’ve seen in my years. And yes, I do view many of the actions as intentional decisions by some of the Israeli leadership.

It’s easy when you know you’ll get no serious pushback.

Also, they’re aware their voters aren’t going to watch CNN, MSNBC, or any other “traditional” media outlet..

It's amazing how public officials who willingly go on TV to talk about these issues can claim ignorance about the very things they've come on to talk about, and it's treated like a legitimate answer.

Jim Jordan after he's played clips from videos of ICE brutalizing people, including American citizens: "I don't know the specifics of those examples you gave. What I do know is these ICE agents are under tremendous pressure ... I think they're doing a good job."

“The devastation is irrelevant without loss of life.”

As someone who has both planned, executed, and debriefed military operations, this is a woefully ignorant statement.

The idea of secondary, tertiary, and long term impacts of this level of destruction have to be accounted for.

You can see the devastation from the plethora of commercial overhead imagery that is available to anyone…that is not a question.

The death toll is certainly up for debate, but there are plenty of studies done (outside of Gaza ministry) that come close to those numbers.

They cannot talk about the shutdown without lying.

There is no connection between troop payments and federal employee layoffs. Zero.

They are paying the troops with multiyear R&D allocations within DOD. This is also illegal by the way! But completely disconnected to the layoffs.
atrupar.com
WELKER: During the 2019 shutdown when Trump was president, no federal workers were laid off. Why are these firings necessary?

VANCE: Who do we care more about- federal bureaucrats or the troops getting the payment they need?

WELKER: But layoffs are a priority?

VANCE: They have forced us to choose
