pretty cool that Rinck, Foster, Evans, and Wilson are all having their parties on the SOUTH END, the new seat of progressive power in Seattle, woop woop
Conspiracy theorists would say they can't get through the van Allen belts and survive
We can't see the stars during the day because the atmosphere itself is reflecting enough light that it washes out the stars.

The issue is close but not exactly that on the moon since there's no atmosphere

It's everything else reflecting so much light so you can't get the right exposure for stars

I care about other issues too, but on transportation policy, all I want from a mayor is a person that is capable of seeing that the best streets in the city have the least cars and actually thinking about what that means.
This is about Mamdani but I think it applies to Harrell vs. Wilson too. People are just really sick of being told that things that could measurably improve their lives are unrealistic by "experienced" moderates. Nobody wants the adult in the room if they're gonna treat everyone like a child.
Will be curious to see the results out of Seattle, too.

I am pretending to hate being jetlagged but I secretly like going to bed at 8 and waking up at 4
Great thread, but this perfectly encapsulates harrell: not a great mayor, and completely visionless to boot
Harrell didn't even have a written plan for what he wanted to do with a second term on his website before the primary. His "One Seattle Vision" page (which honestly now has a lot of great stuff there — much of it seemingly inspired by Wilson) only showed up sometime afterwards.
I love the crow's roost. What a memorable little statue
Anything will do as long as it looks permanent and like it'll mess up your car.

I worry a tree there will look like a place for people to sit on/at, and they're better suited for the interior - where they are on the diagram.
I'm absolutely not an expert, but possibly add a big chunky rock here to stop cutting the turn a little, too?
extremely happy to see someone propose actually measure and incrementally work toward, the goals we have set.
Well said by AMR: "We can't manage what we don't measure. If we're serious about climate action and equity, we need to know how our transportation investments are moving the needle..."

Thrilled to see this receive additional support from the city council.
the painterly smooth look of zoom's codecs give all my video calls Scanner Darkly vibes

Rinck speaking to her amendment on increasing trees in the public right-of-way utilizing existing parking stalls:

"Throughout the Comprehensive Plan discussions we heard loud and clear that we need a greater focus on our tree canopy to meet our goals and promote environmental justice."
careful, a friend of mine was looking to get some leverage on his current landlord.

ended up moving a week later.
Probably need an EIS so it's not bogged down later
I've unfortunately had to just pay so many times: house rewiring. Re-plumbing, sewer lining, roof was well past end of life...

I did a little light kitchen remodeling, but never anticipated how never ending home fixes would be.
I'm assuming 27% is referencing the Crazification Factor.

I remember first hearing about that with W Bush when he was at 28%, wondering if that was the floor

Thank you @alexis4seattle.bsky.social! We need to be measuring and reducing road-source air and noise pollution.
Well, cities can fix it. I can't.
Perfect response video.
