This popped into my head immediately
Edit of a classic tweet saying: The Democrats would’ve kill Liberal Joe Rogan with hammers, I can tell you that much
These premium jumps are because the risk pools are so small. Bigger pools means costs can be spread out. Take out the profit motive and that helps even more.
Open enrollment for ACA plans began yesterday in Idaho.

One couple got notice that their monthly premium next year would jump from $51 to $2,232 as subsidies expire.

25,000 Idahoans are expected to be priced out of coverage.

This is what's at stake in Trump's shutdown.
On top of the learning itself, college is basically training wheels for being a professional/adult. Can you manage your own schedule and multiple deadlines? Completing college proves at least some level of competence in those skills. Is that reductive? Sure, but it is an under discussed part of it.
I get a real nervous tick whenever I see percent increases without the base number. Is it an 80% increase on 200 or 2 million? The degree to which I care depends heavily on the starting point.
Two years since launch and this is still how I feel anytime I look at Threads.

very funny that JD Vance has so little to do with his time that he goes on podcasts to defend 30-year-old men for saying how much they love Hitler
JD Vance dismisses Young Republicans who in a group chat said "I love Hitler" and joked about slavery and rape as "a bunch of kids" who "told stupid jokes" and adds that "most of the stupid things I did when I was a teenager and young adult, they're not on the internet."
$7.50 for a big box of Cheez Its is radicalizing.
Any of Dan Abnett’s stuff is well regarded.

His Eisenhorn trilogy is maybe what you’re looking for. Lots of intrigue within the Inquisition.

Gaunt’s Ghosts is also a fan favorite. A battalion of Imperial Guard scout snipers from a destroyed world and their commissar. Very human scale story.

My funniest recent discussion was about how the meeting notetaker bots are great in theory until you start considering that those logs are probably open to a subpoena and thus the polar opposite of why certain things get discussed in meetings instead of in email.

Increasingly we need candidates who'd be comfortable cutting a wrestling promo
Mamdani: "I just want to speak directly to the president. I will not be a mayor like Mayor Adams who will call you to stay out of jail. I won't be a disgraced governor like Andrew Cuomo who will call you to ask how to win this election. I can do those things on my own."
I find Money Stuff is easier to keep up with since it’s usually 30-40 minutes and is more tied to the news.
Was it this one? I don’t listen to every Odd Lots episode, but they have some pretty interesting topics and tend to be way more honest about negative externalities than most ostensibly pro business podcasts.

But stock go up isn’t a liquidity for the actual company without some extra steps, which is the part I feel like everyone leaves out.
Your reminder that are estimates that terminating this aid will kill 14 million people globally by 2030.

Still can’t get over naming it for the mountain where the evil dragon hoarded its gold. I know the Tolkien reference is basically required for a Thielverse company but this might even be more on the nose than Palantir.

Unless and until some kind of compelling legal and moral argument is presented as to why this is a legitimate use of deadly force, this is just…mass murder.
I just bought a new car and could have gone up to 60 months but I told the sales guy I only wanted 36. At one point he said “well you can opt for a longer term if you want, it’s simple interest” to which I said “yeah but that’s still more money in total.” I wish more people understood this.
