Bill, Joe, and Kamala just want to make sure I celebrate their eventual deaths too.

meanwhile the words: "Every time one of these murderers dies w/o having faced consequences for the massacres they ordered, the lives they destroyed, the societies they razed to the ground I realize how far we are from a world with justice. Rest in hell Dick Cheney. Your legacy is death."

🔥🔥🔥
Instead we got eight years of denial and enriching oil companies. Cheney should be remembered as one of the great villains of our era.
Seeing the news about Cheney's death while preparing to teach about climate change. The Bush/Cheney administration would have been the perfect time for the US to get serious about dealing with the climate -- the science was clear and robust, but it was early enough to make a gradual gentle turn.

Look folks gen AI videos are out in the wild so if you weren't already being careful about sharing rage bait videos then now is a great time to start

If you can't trace a video back to a trusted source then I recommend leaving it where it is, like a slice of bologna you found on the street

Calling on my ancestors for guidance but the only one who answers is a weird eutherian rodent-mammal from the early cretaceous period. "EAT BERRY SLEEP UNDER ROCK" it says. Pretty good advice
The tech industry fundamentally does not see users as people. Because people are messy and unpredictable and insist on the right to make their own decisions, and it's harder to extract profit from things you can't control. They will beat us into submission with their algorithms.
This is not even close to what I signed up for when I came here.

I did not come to @bsky.app so that you could decide FOR ME what I want my social media to be like.

Control over my own experience was the whole entire draw.
Trump figures if he starts 100 wars, he'll Y2K glitch into having 0 wars and thus qualify for the Nobel Peace Prize.
If you see some trunkless legs by the side of the road that say "fifteen miles to the OZYYYY"

Ozymandias yeah!

I'm headed down the antique land highway

...

Sign says, "stay away fools,
Cause Oz rules, see my works and despair!"

...

You're WHAT???

Headless ... visage.
This is just to say

I have looked on
the works
that were in
the desert

and which
you were probably
thinking
would still stand

Forgive me
they were trunkless
so vast
and so old
Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"
Not sure what's more material than permanent ink injected into your body, and paid for by your salary from shooting foreigners to uphold American imperialism, but maybe I haven't read the right chapter of Marx yet.
The irony of the class reductionist left, who brag about prioritizing material conditions over symbolic identity politics, defending Graham Platner because they like the symbolic identity politics of a growly-voiced blue-collar-wearing white guy who talks a good game about inequality.
Are you suggesting that I've been eating the hearts of my defeated enemies to absorb their courage for nothing?
The new head of the largest Lutheran denomination in the US is also from Chicago, so we're getting there. www.elca.org/about/leader...
When I got two packages today I was worried I had accidentally double-preordered one book, but it turns out these two were both published on the same day. Excited to dig in! @beltpublishing.bsky.social

43 years ago today, readers the world over opened their newspapers and gazed upon cow tools for the first time. happy birthday cow tools. you look great.
It leaves them with no guiding vision of what they want the country to be, just a narrow desire for a job.
The problem with too much of the Democratic Party and their consultant class is that they view winning elections as the goal, and policy positions as just a means to achieve it -- rather than seeing policy change as the goal and elections as a means to achieve it.

Wildfires affect thousands upon thousands of American lives every year. Some of their stories we know — the survivors of Los Angeles, Lahaina, Paradise, Boulder.

But most we don't.

Here is @jeva.bsky.social with a series on the reality of life in the age of wildfires:

Remembering the 11 members of Tree of Life, New Light, and Dor Hadash killed 7 years ago.

And remembering that the shooter was motivated by his belief in the "great replacement" conspiracy theory, which is promoted endlessly by all levels of the GOP/MAGA world today.
We remember the 11 lives stolen in the attack on Tree of Life seven years ago today:
