setting aside the fact that they just don’t know what jokes are, this gives a big insight into the mind of white nationalists. they are deeply paranoid about the idea of being percieved as anything other than Epic Stoics

Mainlines are generally pretty all right. i grew up catholic in the Bible Belt and they were always the ones most likely to be chill and not try to convert me lol

I refuse to become a person who drowns in such deep cynicism that they lose all ability to discern anything useful about what's happening around them. Defenses formed from harm can protect our energy and prevent future harm, but they can easily tip into deeply unhealthy, isolating conspiracism.

did actually see a couple activists say shit like this when the Johnson campaign was fucking up on public transit during the election, but they at least made sure to just say transit in general was a yuppie issue. Have never seen someone make this dumb argument specifically with the BUS though lmao

it's kind of wild that a guy died a little while ago and the government swore we would reap the whirlwind and that his widow would lead a howling army of valkyries across the galaxy and then the most you heard about it since was the secretary of domestic war saying they arrested the wife of antifa

Antifa is not a group; the president cannot designate domestic terror groups.

My @brennancenter.org colleague @faizapatel.bsky.social is out today with a deep review of NSPM-7. It is a dangerous directive that will facilitate predatory politics-based targeting: www.brennancenter.org/our-work/res...

In the first 100 days I will dig down into the place of honor. On day one I will issue an Executive Order that the radical woke warning signs be removed and anyone perpetuating the "dangerous and repulsive" lie to be terminated. I will restore the country by touching the ancient treasures.

yeah, that's what I was wondering--I know it applies to federal employees including cabinet and there's different levels of restriction, but I dunno how much leeway they have
cleverturnip.bsky.social
just a heads up, any condescending "oh you think laws matter" type comments--I'll just block you. I know these scumbags don't care if shit's illegal or immoral. It does matter though, and can lead to impeachments in due time once there's enough pressure and appetite for it. Gotta keep a long memory.

This guy's a dumbass who endorsed the con man and racist lunatic Ryan Walters to run the state's public education so he could act like some kind of Baptist Franco, then finally publicly turned away from him when the scandals got to be too much. So, maybe it's a sign

Marc Thiessen is so fucking stupid, willfully or not, that he argued waterboarding couldn’t be torture because Christopher Hitchens agreed to be waterboarded to find out how bad it was for a iirc Vanity Fair article and video, even tho Hitchens was all: it’s torture I felt like I was being tortured…

“Baby in her placenta” is pretty bad for a HHS secretary but it’s arguably worse for a guy with six kids. It’s impossible to not learn this stuff as a dad if you’re even remotely paying attention just once.

I know it's not the most important thing here but this story also corroborates one of my biggest theories about these tech guys: they do zero hours of work in a day. They do no work no matter how much they claim to work 14 hours a day. They're just on their phones.
