Helping people meet people isn’t a bad thing I don’t think.

The problem seems to be when it becomes an accounting exercise and all of a sudden everyone wants metrics, numbers, all that weird shit.

Sorry, we rolled out.

In honour of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand.

"The chancellor approved it"

Just basic “capitalism preying on the desperate, making money from exploitation.”

3. A lot of the audience seemed to be guys who didn’t want to sleep with lots of women, they just wanted a normal relationship with one girl, but hand no clue at all how to go about that.

Seemed like the confluence of good advice, bad shit and socially inept guys was the real problem.
colinelves.bsky.social
My impressions were 3 fold.

1. Definitely some actively illegal suggestions (accidentally-on-purpose brushing the nipple is sexual assault) or just psycho (negging WTF)

2. most of it seemed like basic good advice eg. Dress nice, smell nice, smile, act confident, keep trying, don’t be disheartened.

So… this one time I was employed to film an in-person PUA training session so the guys that taught it could use the video for marketing.
petefrasermusic.bsky.social
It’s just PUA misogynistic bullshit by another name right?

If you’re presenting yourself fraudulently to someone, that’s already *really* bad, but I’d also wager than basically anyone who does this isn’t actually emotionally prepared to have a relationship, and has an immature view of what one is.
youngvulgarian.marieleconte.com
this is sociopathic behaviour and I think we need to treat it as such! just because something has become easy to do doesn't mean it has become less creepy, or more acceptable!
colinelves.bsky.social
Nah man, it’s too sus it’s the same guy.

He’s made up the story to get more attention.
colinelves.bsky.social
How?!

Look at him. He’s 12 and covered in spots.

Besides, he’s too busy sticking his dick in a packet of sherbet dibdabs round the back of the Rugby Club to have 4 kids.
colinelves.bsky.social
Wow, it really is the same fucking guy.

Damn. I bet he lied about eating all those Haribo then.

Not a hero, a big fat liar.
colinelves.bsky.social
Haribo Hero is a Nazi?

That’s depressing.

An attitude known in the UK as “pro-Brexit.”
kokorozek.satan.social
Give it a few months and I’m sure the White House will be telling us that freedom means collective freedom for the nation, not the individual
colinelves.bsky.social
The editors of the national media organisations are like shit Yodas: size does not matter.

If they decide that your particular campaign doesn’t fit the current narrative you won’t be getting any media attention and you won’t be shifting the agenda, no matter the size of your protest.
colinelves.bsky.social
C.f. The blanket coverage of “asylum hotel protests” in the UK - where national media organisations reported protests with as few as a dozen people, making them to drive the political agenda, yet regularly ignore protests with 10s or even 100s of thousands of protesters.
volts.wtf
Turns out protest alone was never what changed things, it was protest *plus media coverage of protests*, which prompted officials to respond to protests, which increased public awareness of protests, etc.

If the protest happens & corporate media simply ignores it ... it's inert.
ineptitudinous.bsky.social
Six out of eight of the largest mass-movement protests in US history have happened since 2017. You wouldn't know this from most media reporting, and you sure af wouldn't know this from the way either major party has reacted.

Man living on benefits wastes it all down the pub eh?

This just tells me benefits are too high.

One of the best things about being in Bluesky over Twitter is that I’ve heard about Toby Young in months.

I almost forgot the tedious Neopbaby crank existed.
rolandmcs.bsky.social
This is written like it was just fortuitous that this particular judge was assigned to the Coskun case co-sponsored by Toby's FSU.... Like the judgment was solely at the judge's discretion.

No, the judgment was rooted in English Law with a heavy nod to the ECHR.

Strange, Toby doesn't mention ECHR

Agreed, the fascist Disney Adults should go live in Nazi Disneyland if they want.

Everyone* wins that way.

*Except Dubai’s slave underclass.

Can’t go wrong with old Mezzy Bezzy.

I heard it was a haunted puppet and a blobfish.

Opinions differ.

Oats, butter, sugar golden syrup: flapjack.

The one positive here seems to be that maybe this means the government is finally making some sort of effort to shift the narrative away from immigration.
colinelves.bsky.social
You say that, but from what I can see the entirety of government policy seems to pivot around OBR economic projections.

Yes, that’s completely mental, but I don’t make the rules.

Brexit isn’t a Labour thing. Nobody believed it was even with Corbyn in charge.
