I fuckin hate it. I don't want to feel like I have to trick people into giving me the literal medicine I need to function, but if you're going to make it that, I'm going to play and win. But it shouldn't be like this at all, I don't have to persuade them I need insulin for my diabetes every 6 months

Lmao I go in full prepared foot-in-the-door belligerent man every time and don't give them a word in. It doesn't come naturally to me at all but I know talking to the doctor is a Battle and if I don't win it I die. I know this wouldn't work if I was a woman or 12 other things and it's fuckin gross

I had to give him a 10 minute sob story about how I'd been fired from three jobs in a row and was suicidal before he was like he went "oh okay you've been through the trials so now you can get some medicine". Also he put it on repeat prescription and forgot he'd done that. About that test my man

Man I love that you have to prove you've suffered enough to deserve treatment. I got top marks in the ADHD test and the psych just went "oh most smart people score highly so it doesn't matter". My brother you gave me the test...

I went undiagnosed until I was 28 and it's fascinating how completely unable they are to parse this behaviour in someone that doesn't fit their picture of ND. When I was 5 my teacher had a nervous breakdown and yelled at my parents for teaching me to read because I was humming under my breath lmao

Part of the point of keeping poverty and starvation around is a threat to force people into working against their class! I don't get how people acknowledge this, but then can't accept that yes, some people are going to accept that option, when the alternative is for their family to starve
