Exactly at that moment. That’s totally how I remember it. The indie build up to a hot summer and Italia 90 and then it all went tits up with Waddle’s penalty*. A slow decline accelerated rapidly into 91.

Went On the piss with Ian Rush around Holborn on a Monday night after a Nike event. He was an animal on the sauce but had some stories. We went toe for toe, mind. Also, Pat Nevin doing an hour on Postcard Records at Milan Linate. We could have went on and agreed to. I lost his number. Gutted.

Trying a ‘Coastal Negroni’. Nee idea what’s coastal about it, but I’ve never tried a negroni and that seems to be a thing these days. Canny lass being shown what to do at the bar, and good measures. However, it tastes like flat blue slush at the church disco circa 1982. People are off their tits.
